First off all shots are with a 70-200 f/4L IS USM so far. IQ seems to be affected only slightly. Even with the heavy crops for the shots below there is still good feather detail. Colors and contrast do not seem to be really changed by the TC.
My biggest issue with this TC so far seems to the the AF. It seems a bit more 'jumpy' and is sometimes slowed. That being said it will sometimes jump to a branch in the shot and very quickly return to the bird, so AF isn't always slowed. The lens with the TC seems to have more trouble finding and locking on the subject than without it. However, I have been shooting birds only with it so far which are generally in a mess of branches so I will have test some more to see how it does in other situations. ![]() American Tree Sparrow by Adam.Mrugacz, on Flickr ![]() Northern Cardinal by Adam.Mrugacz, on Flickr ![]() Pine Warbler by Adam.Mrugacz, on Flickr All of those shots are in the 70-80% crop range. Im really intrested to try this with a longer lens that won't require such a crop and see what kind of detail can be pulled. Im thinking of renting something big and white mid month so more to come....

A few more from this TC. Im will be intrested to see how it plays with the 300 2.8 im renting this weekend. Had some CA issues with the 300 f/4 but that may have been the 300 f/4. AF issues were sorted out.
