I don't think he will this year, about every time I look up he's on the backdrop banner.

Yeah, pretty cool. And our group is pwning the other ones so far -- but that can change in a heartbeat. I had the WSCF group last year and we lost the top spot literally on the last day.

I can't keep up with the votes and my laptop crapped out on me. Had to re-image...

Our group so far has dominated the banners, especially Jeff's, total domination. I have a few and I've seen Scott's, Kgilby and Chris (Zgradis) as well. I do hope it stays that way. If the editors picked them for the banners (I don't think it's random based on votes), they must think they're good .

They didn't seem to keen on entering their group this year.

And yes things can change in a heartbeat. There was one day that all my photos except one dropped to either one or two stars. I was obsessive with my stupid stars and am so glad they did away with that system. They all climbed back up to 3,4 or 5 stars, but it really made no sense that on that particular day everyone voted all my photos down.

that I would. but I don't blame em. if I were in their shoes, I wouldn't pick photos with watermarks either. even if they are small and UN obtrusive.

I got shafted because I was told I could replace the photo if the voting was high enough. but yada yada yada, we all know how that ended. water under bridge.

Same happened to me. I had a bunch of pics that were 5 stars throughout most of the voting period. The last week, all but one dropped to 3 or 4.

WSCF doesn't seem to enthused about most competitions lately, I think Jim has a lot to do with that. Which is really a pity -- Jan has some amazing shots up there, and I've seen what newcomers like Tony have been able to do.

I know Jim has some concerns about the legal use of his images, but mine aren't doing anything anyway -- and like you said, this is all in fun.

I think the banners are 100% random from ALL photos, no? I think I'm (we) on there alot cuz we have lots of photos entered.

I really don't get that...unless he depends on photography income to live, I don't see whats wrong with trying to get added exposure via this book.

I don't think so. It's been that way since we submitted a few days ago and I assume right now, there are over a thousand photos submitted. And they're still the same group of pictures in the banners. It might change days or weeks from now but it's totally not random.

I just want it to say "over an hour"

Anybody know what "top photog" means?

http://www.capturemychicago.com/users

It certainly isn't the number of shots, since I have a relative few compared to some.

I think thats completely random. I've seen nothing consistent about people on that list.

I'd say it's consistent, 80% of the banner pictures were submitted by one Jeff Lewis (same pics too). We're talking about the rotating pictures that occupy almost half the front page, right?
