Default Lock & Dam #14 January 16 2010...

Had a great time at the lock today with Jeff and Cyber, plenty of action to please everyone. Here are some of my shots from today. Nothing all that spectacular, the blue skies we were expecting never showed up, and I for some reason had a hell of a time with metering...

Nice shots, looks like there was some good action. They are pulling out much bigger fish this week.

those fish were gifts from bait shop

there were some guys there throwing those fish in the river to get some action going. and it worked wonderfully.

nice hangin with you kato, my pics are going to look alot similar to these. although you captured the airborne juvenile fight, I missed it.

I didn't do too bad, I missed a lot of the fishing action. I got a lot of feet and water splashing, and no actual catches. Plus, a ton of my shots are out of focus and I don't have a clue why. But, I haven't gone through them all, and I have some RAWs to go through too.

More great stuff. #26 is a duplicate, dont think that I wouldn't notice

Looking at JLEW and your photos it looks like some of them could have the background replaced pretty easily. 25 for example has a nice even white background and I would think photoshop could easily select the eagle out and then just paste onto another background of a plain blue sky. I would try but I don't have photo shop anymore.

#26?? I don't see a number 26, what are you looking at??

I know I can replace the background, but I don't want to. My attention goes to the bird, and the background, while better being blue, doesn't bother all too much being gray or white. Selecting the bird in shots like this is simply using the magic Wand and inverting the selection, a very easy thing to do in PSPX2. then I just create a new image with the background color I want and paste the eagle onto it. I did it on a few of my previous shots where I got sick of cloning out the dirt on my sensor, and just replaced the background.

These I didn't want to bother, the shots really aren't going to improve much with a different background.
