That last one is great. I'll master the long-shutter-at-night-time shot someday.

Actually, the key is the tripod. No need for a trigger when you can always just use the timer.

I apologize for my inexperience, but what kind of settings do you use for that? Small aperature and slow shutter? What's your ISO at?

agreed 100% about the tripod. I guess the trigger is key for me....because I couldnt figure out the damn timer on my camera. but even if I did, I feel the trigger is easier to use and completely rules out the chance of shake.

at night the ISO should be low, like 100. as for aperture and shutter speed, just try different settings. trail and error is really the best way to go.

I'm gong to try a few this weekend and I'll record my settings

this was shot at f13, ISO 200 shutter 5 sec.

I've read 5 seconds is the sweet spot for long exposures. Make sure to have a tripod and remote trigger and fire away.

I always play around with the shutter speeds and do multiple shots of the same thing to get what I want. Sometimes it's 2.5 seconds shutter, sometimes it's 20 seconds. All depends on ambient light and the aperture, really.
