Dell order

I don't know if any of you have ever ordered a lens or camera from Dell and I normally wouldn't but they sent me a $100 gift card so I ordered a lens that they claim is in stock and should ship a couple of days after the order is processed. Well the delivery date came and went and I received an email saying my new shipping date will be Feb 11. I ordered the lens on Jan 4th. My advice don't order from dell

Thanks for the info. I generally try to stay away from dell these days anyhow, but it's still good to know.

we use them at work for computers, the shipping estimates are usually wrong in my experience. Typically its before then, but not much. It is frustrating ordering something in stock and having delays. What lens did you order?

2 days to get my laptop. I have heard they have issues with delivry of other stiff since they are just a middle man.

I ordered the 100mm f2.0 lens they claimed was in stock. I should have jus purchased an external HD and bought the lens from ritz or calumet.

I had a similar experience with ordering a lens from Dell. I needed it for an event and gave ample time, according to their initial shipping estimates. Totally missed it, and I cancelled the order. I have never had a problem with computer sales, in fact the last computer I ordered (loaded Core i7) arrived much sooner than estimated - it only took about a week. And the same goes for older orders. But recently I had been helping family with a Dell order and the delivery took forever, like much longer than usual. So I don't know maybe something has changed over there, like procedure or mgmt wise. Overall I would still recommend Dell. Sure there are some horror stories but you are always going to have those, with any company that does that much volume.

I agree that their computer delivery is fast. I ordered a laptop from them and had it delivered fairly quickly but this lens has been backordered for a month already!

Can do. I work at a jobsite right now and I want to get some shots of pipe fitters welding pipe. The zoom and wide ap will help me get some decent shots.
